David Pollok of Lee and Balgray, d. 1631 (A, B). He married (1) Jonet Pollok, daughter of John Pollok of that Ilk and Janet Mure. She died 8 Aug 1593 (B), and (2) another wife whose name is not known. Burke's Peerage entry states that Jonet was the mother of John Pollok of Balgray but a Pedigree drawn up by Pollock, Langslow Cock et aliter and published in Engert's "Pollock Letters, Queries and Notes" states that she had only two children (Charles and Helen) and that John (and Robert) were the children of their father's second marriage. There is some confusion as to how many children Jonet had and what their names were, as a document in my possession ("Members of the Pollock family") states she had three: Charles, Jonet and Elizabeth, and that Helen was Charles' daughter. I have preferred to assume that she had one son (Charles) and that Helen is Charles’ daughter, and that John and Robert were the children of David’s second wife

She is believed to have died before 1711 (B); (2) Anne Third, on 2 Apr 1718 in Tweedmouth (B), by whom he had 3 children (B). She died 1737 (B), and was buried 12 Jul 1737 (B); and (3) Miriam, d. 19 Jan 1741 (B), buried 19 Jul 1740 (B).

Burke's Peerage states he died 9 April, the day he was buried.

David Pollock, b. 30 Oct 1739 (D), d. 1 Sep 1815 (A, D), buried in St. Martin-in-the-Fields (B), was named on 8 Sep 1786 Burgess of Berwick (D), from 1786 - 1815 he was Saddler to the Crown of England (A, B). Engert in LSWR Pollock says he died died 8th (P.52); Burke's says he was born 30 Oct 1740. He married Sarah Homeria Parsons, married 12 Dec 1779 in St. Bartholomew the Great, London (A, B, D). She was the daughter of Richard and Mary Parsons (B). She died 17 Feb 1817 (D), and was buried in St Martins-in-the-Field, London (B).

He was Barrister, Bencher and Treasurer of the Middle Temple, and appointed Chief Justice of Bombay 1846, when he was knighted (A, D). He married Elizabeth Gore Atkinson on 10 Dec 1807 (A, D) She was the daughter of John Atkinson and died 16 Apr 1841 (A, D).

According to Burke’s, he was educated at St Paul's and Trinity College, Cambridge (BA 1806, MA 1809, Fellow 1807); Barrister Middle Temple, 1807; KC 1827; Commissary Cambridge University 1824-35; Attorney-General 1834-35 and 1841-44; knighted 1834; Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer 1844-1866; Baronet 2 Aug 1866. He married (1) Frances Rivers on 25 May 1813(A, D). She was the daughter of F Rivers (A) and died 25 Jan 1827 (A, D); and (2) Sarah Anne Anowah Langslow on 7 Jan 1834 (A, D). She was the daughter of Richard Langslow (A) and died 1 Apr 1895 (A, D).
